Trish Bruce MSc, Dip COT, MFHT

When you attend for any session you teach me about who you are and together we can discover what you need to help you make changes in your life, whether the change is to sleep more easily, relieve aches and pains or to improve relationships or grieve a loss. We can discuss which therapy will help and I appreciate your feedback so that you get just what you need.

I have completed Practitioner Certificates in Mindfulness and Compassion with the Mindfulness Association . I practise regularly and find that it helps me to feel more peaceful and grounded.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I have had additional training in bereavement, bodywork and mindfulness.

I am a member of UKCP (the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and have regular supervision of my work.

I follow the Code of Ethics and Professional Practice of Scarborough Psychotherapy Training Institute,

which conforms to the Code of Ethics and Practice of UKCP.

 I am also listed on

Holistic Therapies

I have always sensed the energy around people and places so when I was introduced to Reiki it felt very natural. I became a Reiki Master in 1999. I have also completed my training in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and am frequently surprised at it's effectiveness.

I often use crystals when I give a Reiki treatment and use Reiki in conjunction with other therapies. I find that all my skills work well together to offer a full, empathic service to my clients.

I am member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists who aim to establish and maintain high standards of treatment by holistic therapists for the protection and benefit of the public. I am on an Accredited Voluntary Register, which has been independently assessed and approved by the Professional Standards Authority.

As a therapist listed on the FHT’s Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register (, I am really pleased to see a report published by the Professional Standards Authority (, which highlights that practitioners on an Accredited Register ‘can help governments and public bodies achieve their aim to improve health and transform services. It shows employers, commissioners and the public that they can have confidence in Accredited Registers and their registrants’. This is a really positive step towards a truly integrated health care service that will help to improve the nation’s health and well-being.

I am also a qualified Occupational Therapist and I have a Masters Degree in Professional Health Studies. I have recently retired from my job in the NHS as a children's occupational therapist and so have more time for client work and can offer flexibility with appointments.
