Psychotherapeutic Counselling

Do you sometimes feel confused about your emotions? Are you aware that your past experiences restrict you? Would you like to talk confidentially with an experienced counsellor?

I offer individual long or short term counselling for difficulties such as

bereavement and loss

relationship issues

work issues

or for self development

I understand that coming for counselling can feel daunting so I would like to reassure you that I will give you the opportunity to talk openly and in confidence, within a safe, supportive relationship. I acknowledge that you are a unique individual with your own way of seeing the world. Together we can explore what is important to you and discover new ways of moving forward.

Counselling is not about giving advice but by exploring how you think and feel about an issue, you can decide what is best for you.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work using a relational centred model of counselling. This allows us to work together to co-create the therapeutic relationship. I have also received additional training in bereavement counselling, bodywork and mindfulness. I find that we often hold emotions in our bodies as tension, pain or discomfort. By carefully noticing how our body feels while we talk about different issues, we can discover more about our ways of being in the world and find ways to make changes, if that is what you decide to do.

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy

I work using metaphor and visual imagery as well as your preferred method of exploring your experiences.

My Vision - A Garden of Discovery

I see your life as a garden where you nurture your hopes and dreams. BUT sometimes growth can be restricted by the weeds of anxiety and fear. The nutrients can be leached from the soil by depression. Bereavement and loss can leave a gaping hole.

In our counselling sessions, we will explore the issues which are concerning you and causing difficulties in your life.

Gardening can be hard work, involving digging, pulling weeds and dealing with pests. The pests may be unknown to you or those you have been trying to ignore.

Together, we can discover the best way to nurture your garden and allow it to flourish. Along the way there is a strong possibility that we may find new plants and seedlings of treasured plants you thought you had lost. We may also discover that boundary walls crumble to reveal further areas of fertile land.

Sessions last for an hour and are usually weekly. Fees are £35 per session.
